SEATTLE, WA - August 27, 2019 -
After four incredibly fulfilling and successful years at the helm of AFA, this is my final message dedicated to supporting aerospace in Washington state and across the Pacific Northwest. The underpinning of my time at AFA has been the goal of strengthening and growing the industry and your individual businesses, and ultimately, sustaining and creating jobs and prosperity for hundreds of thousands of Washingtonians. Together, we have accomplished this and much more.

Aerospace Futures Alliance names
Emily Wittman as new leader

State advocacy group for aerospace businesses has named Emily Wittman to head the organization

 

SEATTLE, WA - August 15, 2019 - Washington state’s advocacy group for aerospace suppliers and manufacturers has named a new leader. The Aerospace Futures Alliance (AFA) Board of Directors voted unanimously to appoint Emily Wittman as President & Chief Executive Officer. Wittman will join AFA August 19 and transition to the President & CEO role August 29.

An experienced coalition builder, Wittman’s career has focused on growing jobs and economic opportunity for Washingtonians across the state, first with U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell and then with the Puget Sound Regional Council. Most recently, she led regional aerospace business attraction at Greater Seattle Partners, presenting Washington’s aerospace supercluster to industry leaders in numerous forums.

LIFT Named PR NEWS Finalist in Platinum Public Relations Awards

Washington State's First-Ever Aerospace Magazine Gains Altitude: Selected Out of Worldwide Entries

 

SEATTLE, WA - July 15, 2019 - Washington state's first-ever aerospace magazine, LIFT, has been named a Finalist in the PR News Group's 2019 PR NEWS Platinum PR Awards competition in the External Publication category. LIFT is published by the Aerospace Futures Alliance (AFA), Washington state's leading aerospace association.

 

"We introduced LIFT in 2016 to provide news and feature articles for, by and about the industry in Washington. Since then, LIFT's readership has grown across the Pacific Northwest and around the world with subscribers from as far away as Asia and Europe," said Kelly Maloney, AFA president and CEO, and LIFT editor.

 

LIFT's broad appeal is in its approach to content curation. "While we write many of the articles in the magazine, we also provide a platform for businesses to tell their own stories," said Maloney. "The goal is to shine a light on this amazing industry."

Aerospace Futures Alliance President/CEO Maloney to depart organization

Organization grew across every metric during Maloney's 4-year tenure

April 11, 2019, Wash- The Aerospace Futures Alliance reports that Kelly Maloney, its president and CEO, has announced her planned departure to pursue an exciting opportunity. Maloney, who joined AFA in August 2015, will remain president and CEO until her replacement is chosen and will help transition the role smoothly.

 

"Serving as President & CEO of AFA has been a tremendous honor and an extremely fulfilling challenge," said Maloney. "After four successful years, however, I am ready for my next professional adventure. I am enthusiastic about the future of the organization and eager to see who will succeed me in this impactful and rewarding position and continue to move AFA forward."

Aerospace Futures Alliance and SC Council on Competitiveness/SC Aerospace Sign LOI to Explore Creating National Aerospace Coalition

Objective: Collaboration and Cohesion of Associations, Businesses and Economic Development Entities for the Betterment of the Aerospace Industry in the US

The Aerospace Futures Alliance (AFA) and the South Carolina Council on Competitiveness/SC Aerospace (the Council) have signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the purpose of advancing the aerospace industry across the US. The LOI will serve as the platform for exploring the creation of a national aerospace Coalition (Coalition) with the objective of strengthening and growing commercial aviation, space, and unmanned aerial systems in the US through a variety of activities.
