SEATTLE, WA - July 15, 2019 - Washington state's first-ever aerospace magazine, LIFT, has been named a Finalist in the PR News Group's 2019 PR NEWS Platinum PR Awards competition in the External Publication category. LIFT is published by the Aerospace Futures Alliance (AFA), Washington state's leading aerospace association.

"We introduced LIFT in 2016 to provide news and feature articles for, by and about the industry in Washington. Since then, LIFT's readership has grown across the Pacific Northwest and around the world with subscribers from as far away as Asia and Europe," said Kelly Maloney, AFA president and CEO, and LIFT editor.

LIFT's broad appeal is in its approach to content curation. "While we write many of the articles in the magazine, we also provide a platform for businesses to tell their own stories," said Maloney. "The goal is to shine a light on this amazing industry."

LIFT articles have included features on Boeing's 777X; Blue Origin's New Glenn rocket; Aerojet Rocketdyne's 50 Year Anniversary; Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation's new airplane development in Moses Lake, WA; and dozens of aerospace suppliers, airlines, and related businesses such as CarlisleST, Crane Aerospace, TMD Technical Services, Alaska Airlines, ALTEK, and Aviation Technical Services. Edmond Community College's Washington Aerospace Training & Research Center (WATR), Everett Community College's AMTEC program, and aerospace programs and R&D at the University of Washington and Washington State University are regularly featured. LIFT has addressed current topics of workforce development and meeting the industry's talent demands, industry adoption of new technologies, and the economic impact of the industry.

According to PR News Group-publisher of prnewsonline and the premiere worldwide source for communications and public relations professionals-their Platinum PR Awards "acknowledge the corporations, agencies, nonprofit and government organizations - large and small- that took chances and redefined the benchmark for excellence across all areas of communications."
