The Washington State Aerospace Training and Research Center Exceeds Expectations!

1st Graduating Class experiences 80% industry placement

With many more students now in the pipeline, everyone else is beginning to see what the AFA has known for a long time. Short-term, customizable worker training is essential and students who participate in it are finding great jobs!

Since opening its doors in June, the Center has watched the industry hire away 80% of its first graduating class. Plans are underway to make sure students have access to a 3rd shift and the Center just received to funding to expand its facility on Paine Field.

If you have questions about the course offerings at the Center or are interested in utilizing their training, please contact Larry Cluphf at larry.cluphf@edcc.edu.

Washington Aerospace Training Center Holds 1st Advisory Committee Meeting

To ensure that Washington's innovative Aerospace Training and Research Center is industry driven, the AFA has formed an Advisory Committee comprised of a diverse group of Aerospace Companies doing business throughout our state.

The Advisory Committee will meet regularly throughout the year to help develop courses, curricula and marketing of the Center to the industry.

The AFA will be organizing tours of the Center beginning in January. This will help us ensure we meet all of the skills, issues and concerns of the industry.
